Experience Gold Coast welcomes festival community partners

14 May 2024

Experience Gold Coast is excited to announce partnerships with three key community organisations for its upcoming festivals Blues on Broadbeach (16-19 May) and Cooly Rocks On (5-9 June), and later this year, for Groundwater Country Music Festival (18-20 October).

University: Official University Partner

Experience Gold Coast (EGC) is proud to welcome Griffith University to the festival sponsorship family from 2024 as the Official University Partner, underscoring its commitment to arts and music education. The new partnership shines a spotlight on Griffith University's three leading offerings in the School of Art: Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Queensland College of Art, and Griffith University Film School.

Experience Gold Coast CEO John Warn said the partnership with Griffith University provided a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic organisation leading the way in the education of our next generation of arts and cultural creatives.

"This exciting collaboration aligns Experience Gold Coast with another anchor Gold Coast institution that further supports the growth and development of arts and culture in the region," John Warn said. "It's also a great opportunity for our festivals like the upcoming Blues on Broadbeach to reach a new generation of music fans."

"Griffith University has a long history of working with local partners to enrich the Gold Coast's cultural life," Professor Donna Pendergast AM, Director Engagement, Arts, Education and Law Group at Griffith University said. "Teaming up with Experience Gold Coast reflects Griffith's belief that a vibrant arts scene is a key part of a healthy society."

Clean Vibes: Official Waste Management Partner

Clean Vibes joins the festival family once again as the Official Waste Management Partner. With a strong focus on sustainability, Clean Vibes will play a pivotal role in reducing landfill and implementing effective waste sorting and recycling initiatives throughout each event. In 2023, roughly 70% of all waste generated at Blues on Broadbeach was diverted from landfill for recycling purposes. Building on their success from last year, Clean Vibes is hoping to achieve even greater results across the three upcoming festivals, contributing to the preservation of our beautiful environment.

EGC is proud to welcome back EVENTelec, a local Gold Coast company that has grown into one of Australia’s premier providers of specialised event electrical equipment. From sport to music, lifestyle to community events, EVENTelec has been an integral partner in ensuring the seamless operation of electrical services at a variety of events. Their dedication to excellence and reliability has earned them a prominent place in the festival community, and EGC is thrilled to be working with such a professional and trusted team once again.
