HOTA, Home of the Arts is inviting Gold Coasters to become a part of the creation of an extraordinary large-scale art installation in the lead up to WONDER 2025.
The final installation promises to be the biggest and boldest artwork ever showcased at the HOTA Precinct and will feature thousands of ribbons, each inscribed with a personalised message from members of the community.
The ribbons will reflect the heart and soul of the Gold Coast, creating a powerful visual and emotional tapestry that celebrates shared stories and messages of gratitude.
Commencing on 13 February through to 2 March 2025, locals will have the unique opportunity to contribute to this monumental artwork with pop up collection sites across the Gold Coast.
The pop-up collection sites will feature from Coomera down to Tugan from shopping centres, schools, hospitals, Wesley Mission Youth Hubs and Experience Gold Coast’s Student Hub ensuring Gold Coast locals have the chance to contribute their message on one of the 10,000 ribbons.
Participants will be invited to share their voice in answering the statement “I’m grateful to call the Gold Coast home because...” Once collected, the sky ribbons will be carefully integrated into the artwork and raised high into the sky floating across the HOTA Outdoor Stage and up to the HOTA Gallery during WONDER 2025. The result will be a breathtaking visual spectacle that embodies the collective voice of our city.
