Journey to the Middle-Earth: The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale to Make Queensland Exclusive Debut at HOTA

HOTA, Home of the Arts is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated stage production The Lord of the Rings – A Musical Tale is coming to the Gold Coast, the only Queensland stop in the 2025 Australian tour.

Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic trilogy, the production will come to life on the HOTA stage as fans of the beloved books embark upon the journey through Frodo’s legendary and perilous quest across Middle-earth, experiencing breathtaking performances, stunning visuals and an unforgettable dynamic score.

Having toured in the United Kingdom, the United States and New Zealand, the Australian tour will commence in January 2025, with the production premiering on the Gold Coast stage from 4 July in a Queensland exclusive and in time for winter school holidays.

The production will star some of Australia’s most acclaimed musical theatre performers and actormusicians including Jemma Rix as Galadriel, Ian Stenlake as Saruman, Rob Mallett as Strider and Rarmian Newton as Frodo Baggins.

Featuring world-class theatrics, this production gives fans a brand-new experience unlike anything they’ve seen before, while musical theatre fans all over the world are falling in love with the score and the story. The talented all-star cast includes:
Laurence Boxhall as Gollum, Andrew Broadbent as Elrond, Hannah Buckley as Pippin, Stefanie Caccamo as Arwen, Rohan Campbell as Boromir, Jeremi Campese as Merry, Ruby Clark as Rosie, Terence Crawford as Gandalf, Wern Mak as Samwise Gamgee, Rob Mallett as Strider, Connor Morel as Gimli, Rarmian Newton as Frodo Baggins, Conor Neylon as Legolas, Jemma Rix as Galadriel and Ian Stenlake as Saruman.

Completing the production are Georgia Anderson, Gianna Cheung, Nicholas Cunningham, Cameron Davey, Natasha Dumlao, James Frampton, Anthony Garcia, Jonathan Gardner, Matt Hourigan, Esther Lukins, Jayme Jo Massoud, Patrick Schnur, James Whiting and Zayneb Zerzouri.
