Currumbin Esplanade and Beach

Currumbin Esplanade and Beach

Currumbin Beach, Currumbin, QLD 4223

Description

Running just over one kilometre and almost seamlessly integrating together, the Currumbin Esplanade and Beach together serve as a one-of-a-kind event destination for a range of significant community and cultural events.

Regularly voted Queensland’s cleanest beach, this pristine location offers crystal clear water, ample space and breathtaking views from Surfers Paradise to Coolangatta, it's not hard to understand why this is a common destination for events.

Events held at Currumbin Esplanade and Beach include Queensland’s largest outdoor exhibition SWELL Sculpture Festival and the famous Currumbin ANZAC Day Dawn Service.

Attracting up to 50,000 visitors each year, beach lovers travel from all avenues to Currumbin Beach, whether it be to surf the world-class waves, experience an over the water dining experience at Currumbin Surf Life Saving Club, attend the modern beachside cafes and eateries or climb the famous Elephant Rock lookout to take in the spectacular panoramic view.

Currumbin Beach forms part of the World Surfing Reserve with a break that tends to experience larger waves from a wider directional range than the neighbouring southern beach breaks due to the reduced sheltering effects of Greenmount and Snapper Rocks. North of Currumbin Beach, lies the 'Alley' which forms the entrance to the ocean offering very consistent waves and a pristine right-hand break. The Alley backs onto Currumbin Creek, a protected haven, popular with swimmers, longboarders and families.
