GOLD COAST HOSTS CRICKET’S BIGGEST STARS THIS NOVEMBER
The Gold Coast is set to host a major international T20 clash as Australia takes on world champions India on Thursday, 6 November at People First Stadium. This marks the first international cricket match at the venue since the T20 against West Indies in 2022 and promises to be a marquee event for the city. To celebrate the arrival of the Indian team, the Gold Coast will come alive with a weeklong program of cultural, sporting, and community activities. From family-friendly events and thought leadership sessions to game day activations and international famils, visitors can experience the best of cricket, culture, and hospitality.

JAI OPETAIA RETURNS TO THE GOLD COAST FOR WORLD TITLE DEFENCE
Australia’s cruiserweight king Jai Opetaia is set to defend his IBF and Ring Magazine world titles against undefeated German powerhouse Huseyin Cinkara on Saturday 6 December at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre. This marks Jai’s third fight on the Gold Coast this year, following two knockout wins, including a devastating finish against Claudio Squeo.
The bout is a crucial step on Jai’s path to dominating the cruiserweight division, with a potential showdown against WBC champion Badou Jack in early 2026.
The event features a stacked undercard including heavyweight contender Justis Huni, rising star Max McIntyre, and local standout Ben Mahoney, ensuring a night of top-tier Australian boxing right here on the Gold Coast.
