ASICS GOLD COAST MARATHON DELIVERS RECORD $70 MILLION BOOST TO THE GOLD COAST
The 2026 ASICS Gold Coast Marathon has delivered its strongest economic and tourism results in the event’s 46-year history, reinforcing its position as one of the Gold Coast’s most valuable annual major events.
A record 43,000 participants registered for this year’s event, with 85,772 participants and supporters attending across race weekend, an increase of 12% on 2025. More than 67,000 visitors travelled to the Gold Coast for the event.
Visitor spending on the Gold Coast increased by 22% to $70.35 million, while the event generated over 200,000 visitor nights across the city, an increase of 18% from the previous year.
The results demonstrate the significant value major mass-participation events bring to the Gold Coast, driving visitation and expenditure across accommodation, hospitality, retail and attractions while showcasing the destination to participants and supporters from Australia and around the world. The event also delivered an impressive community impact, with participants raising a record $1.53 million for charity.
PACIFIC AIRSHOW GOLD COAST FLIES HIGH WITH HUGE CROWDS AND EXTENSION TO 2028
Pacific Airshow Gold Coast has wrapped up a spectacular three days over Surfers Paradise, with hundreds of thousands of spectators turning out across the weekend to see some of the world’s best aviation performers take to the skies.
Returning after a year away, this year’s program featured six hours of daily aerial action, including the RAAF Roulettes, aerobatic displays, historic aircraft and the first jet suit demonstration ever held in Australia.
Following the success of this year’s event, Pacific Airshow Gold Coast has been secured on the Gold Coast for another two years, through to 2028. The extension will see one of Australia’s most spectacular major events continue to transform the Surfers Paradise beachfront, bringing tens of thousands of visitor nights to the city each year and supporting local accommodation, hospitality, tourism operators and businesses.
As the only event of its kind in Australia, Pacific Airshow has quickly established itself as a major fixture on the Gold Coast events calendar, transforming the iconic Surfers Paradise beachfront into a spectacular showcase of aviation and entertainment.
WORLD SUPERCROSS ROARS BACK TO THE GOLD COAST
The FIM World Supercross Championship is set to return to the Gold Coast, with tickets now on sale for the Australian GP at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday 21 November.
Following a sold-out Gold Coast event in 2025, the world’s best supercross riders will return for another night of high-adrenaline racing as the city hosts Round Five of the 2026 Championship. The Gold Coast is one of just six stops on this year’s global calendar, which spans five continents including rounds in Canada, the United Kingdom, Argentina, South Africa and New Zealand.
The Australian GP will once again transform Cbus Super Stadium into a purpose-built supercross track, bringing fans trackside for fast-paced racing and a major international sporting spectacle on the Gold Coast.
Tickets are on sale now, with options ranging from family and general admission through to premium hospitality.
TURF GAMES BRINGS THE FITNESS FESTIVAL BACK TO PALM BEACH
Turf Games Gold Coast Summer Festival returns to the Gold Coast from 11–13 September, bringing its high-energy mix of functional fitness, competition and festival atmosphere back to its original Gold Coast home at Palm Beach.
Held at the Gold Coast Recreation Centre, the three-day event will welcome teams from across Australia, New Zealand and beyond, with athletes competing in mixed teams of six across a series of challenges testing strength, conditioning, power and teamwork.
This year’s expanded program will also feature Turf Engine on Friday night, an endurance pairs competition combining ski, row, bike and running, before the main team competition takes over the weekend. Athletes will tackle five workouts across multiple arenas, including a pool challenge and a beach run.
Part of a global event series, Turf Games combines competitive fitness with music, food and brand activations, creating an inclusive festival atmosphere for athletes, supporters and the wider fitness community.
