INTERNATIONAL MARKETING ACTIVITY
Experience Gold Coast recently joined Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA), in meeting with key trade and business leaders in the Philippines last week, to evaluate the opportunities of the emerging markets of Southeast Asia
International Marketing Specialist, Craig Undery, participated in a series of key trade and networking events in the Philippines, to strengthen industry and airline ties, while identifying growth opportunities, across leisure, business events and education tourism.
This week, Craig will also attend Tourism Australia’s Marketplace Southeast Asia in Jakarta, meeting with international buyers to strengthen relationships and promote the Gold Coast.
GOLD COAST SETS THE STAGE FOR MAJOR KOREAN TV SHOW
The Gold Coast has been making waves in South Korea, featured as the idyllic romantic backdrop for Season 7 of the popular Korean reality TV series Love After Divorce, a strategic content partnership supported by Tourism Australia, Tourism and Events Queensland, and Experience Gold Coast.
The premiere of Season 7 aired on 20 July, drawing over 650,000 viewers via traditional broadcast channels, on par with previous seasons and reinforcing the show’s strong nationwide following.
After airing, the episode was released on Netflix South Korea, where it quickly rose to No.1 on the platform’s TOP 10.
This media exposure provides a powerful platform to showcase the Gold Coast to South Korean audiences.
KIWI AGENTS EXPLORE THE GOLD COAST ON NEW DIRECT JETSTAR ROUTES
As part of our strategic support for Jetstar’s new direct flights from Hamilton and Dunedin, Experience Gold Coast recently hosted a targeted trade famil for 20 of New Zealand’s top-selling agents.
The group included representatives from leading retail agencies such as House of Travel, Flight Centre, and a number of high-performing independent brokers from both the North and South Islands. This was Jetstar New Zealand’s first-ever international trade famil, marking a significant milestone in their commitment collaboration with Experience Gold Coast to bring this to life.
The famil program was designed to showcase the Gold Coast’s diverse appeal, from coastal experiences to cultural highlights, culinary hotspots, and adrenaline-fuelled adventures. For some agents, it was their first visit to the region; for others, it was a return after more than 20 years.
With three weekly Jetstar services now operating from both Hamilton and Dunedin, the Gold Coast has become the most connected Australian city to New Zealand.
