EGC EMERGING MARKET DEVELOPMENT
In October, Experience Gold Coast (EGC) joined Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) and the Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA) on market development missions to Thailand & Vietnam — two of four priority emerging markets in Southeast Asia.
The missions also supported Jetstar and Vietjet through trade training initiatives, promoting the Brisbane route, and showcasing Queensland — including the Gold Coast — as an ideal destination for holidays and business events.
The missions laid the foundation for strong new partnerships and will inform our longer-term Visitor Economy (VE) growth strategy, which recognises the significant opportunities across Southeast Asia.
Earlier in October, EGC also hosted emerging market media from Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, with visiting journalists and lifestyle editors experiencing the best of the Gold Coast.
