LEARNING, CONNECTING AND GROWING!
Students attending our recent English Language Conversation Class had the opportunity to practise their English skills while learning about native Australian plants and the unique environment of the Gold Coast.
To make the experience even more memorable, each student took home their own native Australian plant.
A wonderful way to build language confidence, make new connections and learn more about Australia beyond the classroom.
QUICK SNIPPETS
- Australia's higher education sector has launched the 2050 Alliance, a new collaboration of nine universities including Griffith University, aimed at helping the nation achieve the Federal Government's target of 80% of working-age Australians holding a tertiary qualification by 2050. The Alliance will focus on expanding access to higher education, particularly for students from regional, remote and under-represented communities, while working closely with government and industry to create a more equitable and future-ready education system. Together, the member universities educate more than 285,000 students and are committed to supporting Australia's workforce needs, productivity growth and long-term economic prosperity. - The latest International Labour Market Update report provides valuable insights into global labour market trends, highlighting how countries are responding to workforce shortages, artificial intelligence, productivity challenges and changing employment patterns. While job growth is slowing in many major economies, Australia stands out as one of the few countries where vacancies and productivity continue to grow. The report also explores the impact of AI on future skills, rising youth unemployment, and what governments, education providers and employers must do to better prepare the next generation for work. A must-read for anyone involved in education, workforce development, international students or future skills planning. Read more here.
- The Mission Australia Youth Survey is now open, giving young people aged 14–19 the opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, hopes and aspirations. As Australia's largest annual survey of young people, the results help schools, governments and community organisations better understand the issues that matter most and develop programs, services and policies that support young Australians. We encourage education providers, schools, youth organisations and industry partners to share this survey with their students and networks to help ensure as many young voices as possible are heard. Every response contributes to shaping a better future for young people across Australia. Read more here.
