GOLD COAST AVIATION SOARS WITH TWO LANDMARK INTERNATIONAL MILESTONES
The return of Qantas' Auckland service and the launch of Fiji Airways' direct connection to Nadi represent significant milestones in strengthening the Gold Coast's global connectivity and supporting the continued growth of the visitor economy, through the gateway to our city, Gold Coast Airport.
As New Zealand remains our largest international visitor market, the return of Qantas International delivers greater choice, enhanced connectivity and a premium business class offering on the airport's busiest international route. The three-times-weekly service adds more than 52,000 seats annually and supports continued growth across tourism, business events, trade and investment.
Building on last week's milestone arrival of Fiji Airways' inaugural service from Nadi, Gold Coast Airport has established a new gateway connecting the Gold Coast with Fiji and key North American markets. Joined by Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Paul Scurrah AM and Fiji's Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, the occasion highlighted the strength of the Pacific partnership and the growing international appeal of the Gold Coast.
A fantastic achievement made possible through the strategic partnership of EGC, Qantas, Fiji Airways, Gold Coast Airport, the Queensland Government, Tourism and Events Queensland and the City of Gold Coast, all committing to growing connectivity and unlocking new opportunities for our city.

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
Each fortnight, we’ll profile an EGC Partner- giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the businesses driving the Gold Coast visitor economy!
DRACULA’S
How would you describe your business and what you offer to someone new to the Gold Coast?
Imagine a three-course dinner, live variety show, comedy, aerial acrobatics, and a ghost train - all inside a gothic mansion in the heart of Broadbeach. That's a Tuesday at Dracula's. We're a dinner and show experience unlike anything else in Australia - open five nights a week - and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Guests come in not quite knowing what to expect, and leave as newly converted super-fans.
What sets your business apart within the Gold Coast tourism industry?
Dracula's is the place visitors discover when they want a night that's slightly unhinged, unpredictable, and completely unlike their day. While the Coast does sunshine, Dracula's does nighttime chaos - and together they make for a pretty unbeatable trip.
What’s a fun or lesser-known fact about your business or team?
Every 18 months, we tear it all down and start again. New show, new sets, new costumes - all designed and built in-house by our own writers and production team. Everything you see on our stage exists because someone here dreamed it up and built it from scratch.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Gold Coast tourism community?
The moment someone who's never heard of us walks out after the show with that look on their face - equal parts delighted and slightly bewildered. We get to be the unexpected highlight of people's Gold Coast trip, and there's nothing quite like that.
