GROUNDWATER COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL LINE UP HAS DROPPED

The second artist lineup for Groundwater Country Music Festival (CMF) 2025 has just landed, and we couldn’t be more excited! 

Leading this next wave of country talent is none other than Gold Coast’s own Casey Barnes, joined by American powerhouse Nikki Lane, pop-turned-country star Amy Sheppard, Texan born Vincent Neil Emerson, and many more incredible artists bringing heat to the lineup! 

Joining Troy Cassar-Daley, Jackson Dean, Brad Cox, Shane Smith & The Saints, The Wolfe Brothers and more, Groundwater CMF is shaping up to be one heck of an unforgettable three days of FREE country music on the coast! 

Hitting Broadbeach October 17 – 19 the precinct will be transformed into a country music mecca complete with country markets, beachside line dancing, activations with prizes up for grabs and endless food and drinks options. With over 40+ artists showcasing their talents, you won’t want to miss it!

SUPER SEPTEMBER: THE GOLD COAST'S ULTIMATE EVENT LINEUP

The Gold Coast is buzzing this September with a vibrant lineup of mass participation sporting events and cultural experiences drawing visitors from across Australia and beyond. 

The action kicks off at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre with the AASCF Queensland State Championship for Cheer and Dance (Sept 5–7), featuring 1,500+ athletes competing in a high-energy event. 

Queensland’s premier school basketball competition, Champion Basketball School of Queensland (CBSQ) Opens, welcomes over 2,500 players battling for state honours from September 18–21. Meanwhile, the National Club Gymnastics Carnival runs from September 17 with 2,500 Australian and international gymnasts competing across all seven Gymsports disciplines—a true celebration of gymnastics. 

Elite beach sports arrive in Tugun for the SLSA Iron Series Trial (Sept 20–21), a key qualifier attracting around 800 surf lifesavers. Then from September 26 to October 5, one of Australia’s largest junior football (soccer) tournaments, the Premier Invitational, brings together over 50 national clubs and 6,000 participants for a thrilling top-level series. 

UniSport Nationals, Australia’s largest university sporting event, sees 8,000 athletes competing across 32 sports and drawing large crowds from September 27 to October 3 at venues across the city. 

Closing out the month, the Australian Pickleball Championships at Pimpama Sports Hub (Sept 29–Oct 6) gathers 400+ players competing in this rapidly growing sport. 

It’s not all sport—cultural highlights include Queensland’s largest outdoor sculpture exhibition, the SWELL Sculpture Festival at Currumbin Beach (Sept 12–21), attracting tens of thousands of visitors to experience 60+ large-scale public artworks. The Crafted Beer Festival returns for its 9th year at Kurrawa Park on September 13, with 50+ breweries and more than 5,000 attendees sampling local craft brews, live music and a new “Crafted Smokeshow” food experience.

SHOWCASE YOUR GOLD COAST BUSINESS AT VOLLEYBALL AUSTRALIA'S SCHOOLS CUP

The Australian Volleyball Schools Cup is making its return to the Gold Coast from 7 – 13 December 2025, and Volleyball Australia (VA) are giving Gold Coast businesses the opportunity to be part of the action. This national event will attract thousands of students, families, and supporters from all over the country, with over 500 teams across 160 schools from Australia and New Zealand. 

VA are inviting local businesses to become a vendor at the event at Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre, or provide an A4 printable flyer with an exclusive discount or deal valid throughout the event week, 7-13 December 2025. Offers are promoted directly to the event attendees and the VA wider audience, helping visitors discover and enjoy the very best of the Gold Coast.

CELEBRATE "7 YEARS TO GO" TO THE 2032 PARALYMPIC GAMES!

Join the City of Gold Coast on Sunday 24 August, 10am–1pm, as we mark the “7 Years to Go” milestone for the 2032 Paralympic Games. Enjoy an inclusive, all-abilities celebration featuring Paralympians, the Deputy Mayor Cr Mark Hammel, and City of Gold Coast CEO Tim Baker as well as Triple M Gold Coast’s Nelly McKenzie. 

Get active with ‘Have a Go’ para sport activities, including climbing, wheelchair cricket & basketball, boccia, archery, paddle/canoe, and para talent identification opportunities. Kids can complete the Passport Booklet Challenge to earn a commemorative medal. With food trucks, family fun, and something for all abilities – this celebration is your chance to be part of the 2032 countdown!

DON'T MISS THE "GREATEST SHOW ON TWO WHEELS"!

Freestyle Kings Live is back and set to take over Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday 28 March 2026. As part of a six-country, 50-show World Tour, this family-friendly action sports theatrical spectacular will feature the world’s best Freestyle Motocross and BMX riders, headlined by the first family of action sports - legend Robbie Maddison and his sons Kruz and Jagger. Joining them is Gold Coast’s own FMX World Champion Pat Bowden and an all-star international crew.  

After its huge success in 2024, Gold Coast was the first stop chosen as part of this 14-stop Australian leg of the tour. Following record-breaking crowds last time, Freestyle Kings returns bigger, louder, and more adrenaline-fuelled than ever.
