RETURN TO PARADISE WORLD TITLE BOXING EVENT, FEATURING WORLD AND RING MAGAZINE CHAMPION JAI OPETAIA
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre will be the epicentre of the boxing world as Australia’s own Jai Opetaia defends his IBF and Ring Magazine Cruiserweight World Titles against Italy’s undefeated Claudio Squeo.
This highly anticipated bout not only showcases two unbeaten fighters but also features a stacked undercard with some of Australia’s brightest boxing talents.
Leading up to the event, the Gold Coast will host an action packed ‘Fight Week’, including open training sessions, weigh-ins, and live Q&A sessions with Jai and Claudio.

SURF, SOUND AND STORIES COLLIDE AT SOLENTO SURF FESTIVAL
The Gold Coast will host the first Australian edition of Solento Surf Festival with eight-days of surf culture, film, art and music celebration.
The international festival, curated by award-winning filmmaker and Solento founder Taylor Steele, will unfold from 7 - 14 June across Burleigh Heads, HOTA, Home of the Arts, and the Mondrian Gold Coast.
Marking its Queensland premiere, the festival embraces the region’s rich surf legacy and creative spirit, with a program packed with exclusive film premieres, live music, art installations, conversations with world-class athletes and filmmakers, and a laid-back beach takeover.

THE AUSSIES RETURNS TO THE GOLD COAST IN 2026
Last week, Surf Lifesaving Australia announced that The Aussies will return to North Kirra from 21 to 29 March 2026.
This follows the resounding success of the 2025 event, which saw over 7,000 athletes from 300 surf lifesaving clubs compete across nine days of competition.
