WONDER OPENS THIS WEEKEND!
It’s finally here! WONDER: CLOUD PLAY lands at HOTA, Home of the Arts.
This Saturday, the spectacular CLOUD PLAY opens to the public for WONDER 2025.
In an Australian exclusive and created by US based art house Poetic Kinetics, the 530sqm artwork will soar between the HOTA Outdoor Stage and Gallery this winter for six weeks.
You can experience CLOUD PLAY alongside a suite of incredible events including:
- Sounds Like Gold Music Festival
- Strictly Baz Luhrmann: The Concert
- Goldy’s Wunderbar
- Solstice Brazil: BaianaSystem
- Gawrehma Jungun: The Story of Clouds (a First Nations audio experience)
Whether you’re into sky high art, orchestral music that soars, or local and international acts that will have you dancing all night, there is a little winter magic for everyone as part of WONDER 2025 at HOTA.

BLEACH* ANNOUNCED!
BLEACH* 2025 has officially been announced!
Under the artistic direction of the incredible Michael Zavros, this year’s BLEACH* will bring awe-inspiring art, music, and visual spectacle to the Gold Coast across 11 unforgettable days, starting Thursday, 31 July.
Set across three vibrant hubs - HOTA, Home of the Arts, Emerald Lakes Precinct and Kurrawa Park in Broadbeach - this year’s BLEACH* celebrates the rich diversity of our multicultural city.
From live music inspired by Nirvana on HOTA’s Outdoor Stage, to Skywhales soaring across the Gold Coast skies, Greek Feasts fit for the gods, and all culminating in a spectacle blending opera, orchestra and the country’s finest horsemanship in a breathtaking cavalcade live on the beach – there is something for everyone this August.

SEAFIRE IS COMING TO HOTA THIS SATURDAY!
The HOTA Parklands will explode with the colours of SEAFIRE this Saturday, 31 May.
For the first time, SEAFIRE will see the HOTA Parklands as one of four Gold Coast locations to light up the skies in the ultimate fireworks competition.
This year, the two international competitors - Belgium and the United States - will go head to head in an explosion of colour in an 18-minute firework finale. This FREE family-friendly event can be experienced around the HOTA lake, with the HOTA Outdoor Stage hosting free music by the The Good Band, Food Trucks and all under the inspiring CLOUD PLAY artwork.
Catch The Good Band from 5:00pm alongside DJ Swing-a-Billy Ray, and be sure to catch the SEAFIRE fireworks at 7:00pm.
SEAFIRE is presented by City of Gold Coast.
WHAT’S HOT: A SERIES OF POP-UPS WITH MARCO PIERRE WHITE
Thursday 5 June – Saturday 7 June
The HOTA culinary arts team is overjoyed to welcome back culinary icon Marco Pierre White. Joining us over four massive days, Marco will host a series of pop-ups and masterclasses where guests will gain insight into his culinary philosophy and discover some handy kitchen tips.
A theatre talk hosted by HOTA's Executive Chef, Dayan Hartill-Law, will traverse Marco's storied career - where it all began, how the industry has evolved, and what the future holds.
Then Marco jumps into the kitchen with White Heat. With the first event selling out in record time, we have announced White Heat Two, to be held on Wednesday, 4 June. Limited seats remain. This dinner will showcase the cuisine that earned Marco his three Michelin stars, paired with a stellar lineup of large format wines – this is quite literally a once in a lifetime opportunity!
The Palette X Marco event has just a couple of seats remaining at the kitchen table, offering guests the chance to get up close and personal with Marco in the kitchen.
Finally, the series concludes with an enormous event showcasing the best on the Gold Coast, featuring chefs Koki Anekawa from Anekawa, Tim Stewart from The North Room, Pastry Chef extraordinaire Melanie Day, HOTA's Executive Chef Dayan Hartill-Law, and Marco Pierre White – each preparing a course that celebrates the incredible produce of Southeast Queensland.

TICKETS SELLING FAST: MASTERCLASS WITH THE MASTER MARCO PIERRE WHITE
Friday 6 June and Saturday 7 June
Whether you’re a seasoned chef, passionate chef apprentice or just love everything there is about the art of cooking, this two-hour intimate and inspiring masterclass is for you. It offers a firsthand insight into the techniques, stories, and philosophies of one of the most influential figures in modern British gastronomy.
MARROW: PRESENTED BY HOTA AND AUSTRALIAN DANCE THEATRE
Australian Dance Theatre’s (ADT) powerful work MARROW comes to HOTA’s theatre on Thursday, 12 May.
This dance work by the ADT ensemble tangle with layers of smoke, light and cultural narratives that reveal truth, power and identity.
Part Rave, part ritual and all inspiring, this dance work by Daniel Riley is uncompromising and disassembles the narrative truth of our past.
For nearly 60 years Australian Dance Theatre has pioneered new work that has continually redefined dance and pushed the artform, and this June they bring that exceptional work to HOTA’s Theatre in a one night only presentation.
